Baladino visits Lebanon…Illinois!

By Ken Carlson

Members of the Israeli band Baladino really looked forward to their trip to Lebanon—Lebanon, Illinois, that is! Peter Palermo, Liz Crabtree, and all the folks at McKendree University and the surrounding community welcomed Baladino so warmly. It was the last full residency week of Baladino’s tour, and we couldn’t have written a better ending.

All photos and descriptions below are by Eric Young Smith, the road manager on tour with Baladino.

During a welcome and greeting, Baladino was honored to receive a banner from the Rotary Club in the community of O’Fallon, IL…

…and the staff and patrons of the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts at McKendree University in Lebanon, IL, welcomed Baladino’s music with a wonderful reception.

Baladino visited with folks at Covenant Place in St. Louis, where cameras and smart phones were kept busy capturing the great Middle Eastern vibe.

Peter Palermo shared time with his friends at 8th Grade Academy in Cahokia, IL.

Later Baladino visited McKendree University’s music students for a few in-depth workshops for students of Woodwind and Percussion.

The morning workshop at Highland Middle School in Highland, IL, was “standing room only“…

…then Greg Allen brought his band students for a workshop with a greater focus on music and conversation.
